The Everest region has attracted people for many years for several reasons. Despite its relative popularity, the Everest Base Camp trek offers a relatively high level of challenge as walking at high altitude for multiple days is tough.
The views are outstanding and the overall experience, it’s fair to say, can be life changing. During this two-week adventure, your senses will be overloaded with everything Nepal has to offer. From backdrops that could be mistaken for green screen, the kindly Nepalese people, the cold crisp morning mountain air, through to the exhilarating mountain flight to Lukla. You won’t regret it. Check out the reviews below.
So, what are you waiting for? Let’s start our adventure today!

I completed this trek with Ace in December. During COVID! And I sort of booked it at the last minute too.
Everything about the experience was fantastic. From... read more the second I first reached out about going on a trek, Ace was extremely responsive and helpful. They were especially great in helping me figure out and organize all of the logistics around COVID. They continued to be super helpful and diligent when I arrived in Nepal. It was so nice not to have to worry about securing my own transportation to the hotel, to the COVID test or to the airports.
The trek itself was also incredible. Basically as soon as we started hiking I thought to myself "this is already one of the best experiences of my life". Because of COVID (and also because I went in December), the route was practically empty. I ran into only a handful of other tourists the entire time. It was pretty incredible to feel like I had the trail to myself. Because the trail (and also the guesthouses) were so empty, I felt extremely safe and comfortable from a COVID perspective. To be honest, I basically forgot that COVID existed the entire time I was trekking.
My guide and porter, Milan and Soman, were also just the best. They made me feel like I was hiking with friends.
We completed this trek in 2011, and we have returned to Nepal several times since then to support Ace's partner charity, Sambhav Nepal, which is focused on improving the quality of education, healthcare and opportunities to people in the Gorkha region of Nepal.
An excellent trip, looking forward to another with Ace perhaps next year. Five star plus.
Our Ace manager Sajiya briefed us comprehensively on trekking conditions... read more and our schedule prior to departing, and organised our resort accommodation (upon request) at our return. Her attention to detail is reassuring to say the least, we had absolute confidence in her helmsmanship of Ace from there on in. For our first experience abroad, in hindsight, we wouldn't change a single detail.
Picked up in the late evening from the airport by our plucky guide Deepesh, it became evident that his ownership of our Himalayan experience was personal. He sold the total package of EBC on his amicable, unflappable conduct. Throughout the entire trek Deepesh was right about wherever you needed him to be, whatever the requirement. His converse with the porters and hosts was on par, and he always negotiated an accord in our favour.
One of the Himalayan heroes was our porter Kumar, always making himself available as the personal host. Many times Kumar would return unladen from despatching our baggage at accommodation and assist a struggling group member by taking a daypack or offering stimulating support. Having being blessed with good fitness, some days I delighted in catching up to Kumar climbing a pass during the days trek which would draw a chuckle and a positive response.
In reflection our EBC advice is to go with Ace, go hard, go prepared and go without expectations. Because the real reward will come later, reflecting on your journey a lifetime away in the warmth and comfort of your humble daily existence
When we arrived in Kathmandu, our trek manager Sajiya gave us a comprehensive outline of the itinerary and what to expect which prepared us for all eventualities.
We struck gold with Madan as our tour guide. Over the course of the two weeks he went from guide to friend to family. Madan having done over 200 treks had so much knowledge of not only the Himalayas but also medical knowledge on how to minimise the chances of altitude sickness, which none of us got. Because of him, we were able to achieve 100% success rate with all members of our group not only making base camp, but also making the difficult yet rewarding trek up Kala Patthar.
Madan kept us laughing, even when we were altitude trekking in -17 degrees! He kept us humble with the number of times he beat us at UNO, and always reminded us to stop and admire the view. He was constantly checking for altitude sickness so we felt safe and well cared for. He even brought up a pulse oximeter to check our oxygen levels. His passion about preserving the beauty of the Himalayas and caring for its people was infectious, and he helped us recognise the importance of sustainable trekking.
Our wonderful Porters Raj and Dhan made the trek much easier for us and were always there if we needed help. We couldn't have done it without them. Dhan especially was like a second guide and joined us for acclimatisation treks and the trek to base camp.
Overall this was the a trek of the lifetime. Going with Ace the Himalaya made it the perfect trip.
My wife and I trek EBC with Ace the Himalaya in February 2020.
We choose Ace because of the reviews in Tripadvisor and the way... read more they reply every single email i sent to them. They are so professional.
Lets start with Lokesh, every single question was answered with details. Although some of question was silly and doesn't make sense. He still answer to ensure that i have no doubts of choosing them.
Our guide Deepak Neupane. He is the best and professional. Always asking us bout our health on trek. Ensure we eat. Perfectly arranging our trekking schedule. Always wait for us if we too slow. N help us taking our pictures and videos. Also, he helps us carry our loads when he noted one of us exhausted. He even share his mountain experience and knowledge with us. All u got to do is trust him, he is the best.
Our porter name is Gombu Sherpa, always smiling and fast on trek. Our bags were always ready in front of our rooms before we reach guesthouse.
Lastly to Ace the Himalaya Manager Sajiya Shah, for always ensuring her team give their best for our expedition.
If you guys reading this, don't wait, trust Ace the Himalaya for your expedition to EBC.
n EBC is so beautiful n so worth it.
Amir - March 2020
bringing me back to Kathmandu.
Also, the puffer jacket and sleeping bags we hired were great quality.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, there was a bad storm in the region prior to the trip that caused avalanches and the deaths of some trekkers and guides over the AC. Since information was sparse regarding the condition of the trail, we made our way there with the intention of trying as long as it was passable. On our second day, the guide, Dipak, conversed with some locals during our lunch and found out that the path was closed due to snow beyond the village we were supposed to reach on our 4th day.
We made an executive decision to turn around and Dipak came up with an alternative itinerary in which we would head straight to Pokhara and make our way up to Muktinath on the backside of the trek. The way up to Muktinath he knew was clear due to the amount of traffic heading up there. Without Dipak’s help, we would’ve made it up the trek normally only to be turned around and therefore wasting precious time that would not have allowed us to reach Muktinath.
Dhan, our porter, was wonderful throughout the entire trek. He made sure to grab my orders for all of our meals and made sure I was the first to eat every time. I greatly appreciated his service throughout the trek.
Overall I was satisfied with the service on the trek. Trekking in winter will always carry some risk of inclement weather but Dipak and Dhan were able to help make the most of the situation we had. Also if you have the time, I would recommend the AC as it’s quite the trek wandering through that conversation area. The altitude can be quite difficult if you’ve never had experience with it but Ace the Himalayas itinerary allows for ample time to acclimate, which is really all you need to manage.
The experience was excellent.
Our village stay at Ratmate was incredible, with wonderful support from our guides, accommodation, meals and fun trying to learn some Nepalese. We were there to help rebuild one school that was levelled by the earthquake in 2015, and then helped with English teaching.
I found the trek to Poon Hill challenging, but our guide, Deepak, and our porter, Utsop, were so helpful, and incredibly supportive throughout, particularly with negotiating the ice and snow.
Booking the trek and charity work was straightforward, and all our needs were met with transportation from airports, between towns, city sight seeing and even finding ATMs.
Please consider Ace the Himalaya for your trip to Nepal, and also look at some charity work that can be incorporated into the trip. My son and I will be back to do it again.
Nimesh’s insight into the culture, expert counsel to his clients and skill on the trail are beyond compare. Plus, he’s a great conversationalist and very funny, and truly wants to learn about his clients.
I am returning this year for another EBC trip with Ace, and insisted on having Nimesh as my guide—because I wanted the best, and that’s what he is. I can’t wait!
Highly recommend guide
I had very high hopes and I was not disappointed. Madan and Dan didn't just make it a "great" tour, they took the time to get to know me, find out why I came, and understand what excited me most about the trek.
Then they made sure every day was curated with all the things I was excited about: from small things like meal and snack planning, to bigger things like taking me to the best monasteries and ensuring we met a (slightly unreasonable) time for a travel connection. The entire time I felt extremely well cared for and am so grateful for the experience!
